Of or akin to a slum; squalid, impoverished, or of very low quality. Why did you bring me to such a slummy restaurant for our date? The guide book I bought said this town was a vibrant and bustling fishing village, but it looks pretty slummy to me. It made me sad to see my brother living in such a slummy apartment.
