Shabbat shalom

Shabbat shalom

Literally "Peaceful Sabbath," a standard salutation and expression of good wishes said to someone during the Jewish Sabbath. Rendered in Hebrew as שבת שלום As I entered the synagogue for the Shabbat evening service, an older man smiled at me and quietly said, "Shabbat shalom!"
