nota bene

Used in writing to indicate something that should be specially noted by the reader. Often abbreviated as "NB" or "n.b." Comes from the Latin phrase notā bene, meaning "note well." At the bottom of the page was a note from the editor that read, "Nota bene: The terminology used in this section is obsolete, but has been preserved for the sake of historical accuracy."
