The word "please." Used especially when reminding or prompting someone to make a polite request. A: "Mama, can I have a cookie?" B: "What's the magic word?" A: "Please can I have a cookie?" B: "That's better. Sure, here you go." A: "I'm going to go ask if Tom will help us." B: "Don't forget to use the magic word."
