inter alios

From Latin, meaning "among other persons." The board of directors will consist of, inter alios, the state's former governor. The allegation holds that the company used the money to bribe, inter alios, local government officials. Yes, there were a few celebrities there—inter alios, of course.

inter in (something)

To bury someone in a particular place or thing. A noun or pronoun can be used between "inter" and "in." Is she also interred in Holy Cross, like the rest of the family? Phil wants us to inter him in a very specific type of casket. Grandmother never wanted to be interred in a cemetery. She wanted to be cremated so we could scatter her ashes in her favorite places.

to bury someone in something or in some place. They chose to inter her in the family burial plot. She was interred in the vault with the rest of the family.
