I could murder (some kind of food)

I'm so hungry that I could (or would like to) devour (some kind of food). I'm famished after that hike. I could murder a hamburger right now. I'm having such a craving for sweets at the moment that I could really murder some cupcakes or cookies. I don't know about all this fancy food they're serving, but I sure could murder some chicken fingers and fries right about now!
