slang Stop it. Used as an imperative directed at someone who is deemed to be acting foolishly. Oh, get off it, you're as smart as anyone in this program. A: "Our company could have really been successful if you hadn't held us back like that!" B: "Get off it, Jack. I've done all I could to make this company a success, and you know it." Oh, get off it, Darryl—you come from a wealthy family and earn a six-figure salary. You can't relate to the plight of common man.
