To proceed with a given action, intention, or pursuit, especially after a delay, distraction, or pause of some kind. We've been talking about development strategies for weeks now, can't we just get on with it already? I've been waiting for the concert to start for 30 minutes—I wish they'd get on with it. You keep repeating yourself. Get on with it!
