full-on

1. Describing something that has reached a particularly intense level or quality. Used before a noun. Oh, this is a full-on competition now that those two computer whizzes have signed up. I wasn't expecting this to turn into a full-on horror movie! A: "What's that sound?" B: "Dad told me he was just closing his eyes, but now he's full-on snoring, so I guess we'll have to wake him up for dinner."
2. Consuming or requiring all of one's energy or time. Work has been really full-on lately. We just took on a new client, so we've been working extra hours to accommodate them. Things must be full-on at home with two toddlers and a newborn! When you're a college librarian, work always gets really full-on as the semester winds down.
3. Physically, mentally, or emotionally exhausting. Are you sure you don't mind looking after the kids for the whole weekend? They can be pretty full-on. Sarah's nice and all, but she's a bit full-on in one-on-one conversations. Oof, therapy is full-on—but it'll pay off in the long run.
