Do Not Disturb

set phrase Used especially on signs to indicate that someone inside a room does not want to be interrupted or disturbed. I want to sleep in late tomorrow, so let's put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door. The psychologist has a "Do Not Disturb" sign up outside her office, so she must be with a client right now. Take the "Do Not Disturb" sign off the door so housekeeping will clean our hotel room while we're out.
