Custer's last stand

Colonel George Custer's decisive defeat by the Sioux at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. Modern historians approach Custer's last stand much differently than those of the early 20th century. Custer's last stand went so poorly because his men were drastically outnumbered by the Sioux. A: "I'm quizzing Ellie for the history test. OK, what battle is also known as 'Custer's last stand'?" B: "Uh, the Battle of Little Bighorn?"
