2. Used as a rude retort alongside an attack of some kind. "Those rebels are dug in pretty well. Well, let them chew on this!" he said, as he lobbed a grenade over the barricade. Mean old Aunt Janie can chew on this—I let my pet snake loose in her room! "Here, jerk, chew on this!" The boy shouted, and a water balloon crashed down on my head.
