bumper crop

A crop that yields an unusually abundant harvest. Local farmers all had bumper crops of corn this year, so the price for consumers was much lower than usual. A: "Whoa, why do we have so many tomatoes?" B: "My dad dropped them off this morning—they're from his bumper crop." Why don't we ever end up with a bumper crop of something I have a lot of recipes for, huh?
