At the price that something is worth; at face value. This phrase is often used in reference to stocks and bonds. I hope you bought this at par and didn't pay more than it's worth. Yes, I did buy those stocks at par—my broker counseled me on this very issue. It's a small corporation, so we should be able to get stocks at par.
