(something) says it all

Used to indicate or emphasize that some particular detail serves as clear, plain evidence of a larger issue. When I asked my mom if she was mad at me, her silence said it all. He's clearly still petrified of dogs—the look of terror on his face says it all! These politicians aren't truly interested in lowering our taxes—their inability to get a deal done in Congress says it all.
