(some amount) below

Some amount below zero degrees (Fahrenheit, Celsius, etc.) in temperature. I heard it's supposed to go down to 30 below tonight! There's no way I'm going out today—I have no interest in waiting for the bus while the wind chill is making it feel like 10 below. I am very content with Florida winters. Who needs snow and temperatures of 20 below to get into the Christmas spirit?

below someone

ranking below someone. I am below Terri, but my scores are better than Carol's. I am below everyone in the class.
