euphemism One's time to die. My parents want me to come to the hospital and say goodbye to Uncle Eddie—they think his hour has come. Darling, have faith—the doctors don't think it's your hour. They think you'll make a full recovery. It can't be Billy's hour—he's only 10 years old!
