Throughout North Texas and across the nation, the number of individuals who rely on Meals on Wheels
for their daily nutritional needs is growing.
In response to this program, Meals On Wheels
of Tampa has developed partnerships with the following groups: Sweetwater Organic Community Farm, Sanwa Farmer's Market, Feeding Tampa Bay, University of South Florida, Publix, Save a Lot and others.
The report reads: "Clients who currently use the meals on wheels
service have an identified eligible need.

The council stopped providing meals on wheels
services in 2006 following consultation with users of the service at that time which found that frozen meal deliveries offered flexibility over choice of meal and times of meals which a meals on wheels
service could not offer.
Slaithwaite Meals on Wheels
delivers a hot meal every Wednesday to about 30 elderly residents.
Now other older people are now being encouraged to join the hundreds of local residents who receive hot meals or afternoon teas from the Meals on Wheels
service every day.
For many pensioners meals on wheels
is the only regular contact they have with other people, and the contact with those who do deliver it is as important as the food.
Craig-y-Don councillor Janet Finch-Saunders said: "I'm very worried about this as Meals on Wheels
is a lifeline to many people in Conwy.
Elizabeth Kocsik, aged 77, still lives independently in her own home but has the city council's Meals on Wheels
The company senior vice president of government affairs and communications, Jan Jones, said, 'The 38 meal delivery trucks and thousands of employee volunteers from Harrah's have enabled Meals on Wheels
to deliver millions of meals to seniors across the country.
The Meals on Wheels
concept is national, with programs in the 50 states.
The club, a nonprofit organization, also donated $800 to Meals on Wheels
to help reduce the waiting list of shut-in seniors who have been unable to receive a hot meal on weekdays.
That is an average of 1,610 meals a day, with the average Meals on Wheels
recipient being 83 years old, female and living alone.
Since Meals on Wheels
is volunteer-staffed and non-profit, there are no standards on how food should be packaged and preserved on a delivery route.
