Indeed, under the chapter-heading Courage/Discretion/Resolution/Hesitation, we learn that he who hesitates is lost, that fortune favours the brave, and 'nothing ventured, nothing gained', as well as that 'the person who never made mistakes never made anything' -- but also that it's better to be safe than sorry, that discretion is the better part of valour, and that he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day.
All things come to him who waits, and look before you leap; but he who hesitates is lost.
And, as the old proverb says, he who hesitates is lost.
