1. A literal request for the check at a restaurant so that one can pay and leave. We have to leave soon if we're going to make this train—check, please!
2. By extension, a humorous phrase said when one is acting as if they want to leave a particular place or situation. Often used immediately after something outrageous has been said. A: "And that's how you can tell the Earth is flat." B: "Yikes. Check, please."
